500 Years of Highlights from Our Collections

Welcome to Festival of Museums 2017 at the University of Edinburgh. Explore 500 years of highlights from our collections over the weekend, as we celebrate the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology.

Journey through the University’s collections to uncover Edinburgh’s hidden histories; view medieval illustrations of the city or hear unsettling stories from skeletons, discover the origins of public artworks or get creative in one of our hands-on workshops. All of our events aim to challenge your understanding of museums and will take you on a journey through time using our collections.

Our events will run over two days of the festival, with many of the activities taking place in the University’s recently restored concert hall at St Cecilia’s Hall. Workshops will include activities such as printmaking and photography, and our seminars will highlight the range of collections held at the University.

Booking for all our events is now open! Just click on the events and tickets page to find out more…
